The Caring Echo - Edition 1

A new annual newspaper focusing on caring is going to print in the Chaudière-Appalaches region!

In the Chaudière-Appalaches region, a brandnew annual newspaper called ''The Caring Echo'' is going to press, with a clear objective: to focus on good care for seniors and vulnerable adults. Distributed throughout the region, this paper aims to disseminate positive, inspiring and constructive content to promote an inclusive society for all, under the banner of caring.

'' The Caring Echo'' positions itself as an advocate of rights. It has a section "Ask Kelly", where readers will have the opportunity to discover an inspiring story. These stories are not only a source of inspiration, but also a guide to shaping a world where respect and kindness are the pillars.

For a '' playful break'' , a games section is available. These games are designed to entertain while stimulating discovery of the concepts of kindness.

Through a creative approach, a comic strip has been designed to raise awareness of these various rights and also a discovery column called '' Horoscope of rights'' , resembling the astrological section of newspapers.

Each edition of '' The Caring Echo'' will feature a cultural section suggesting a book or other medium whose content resonates with the values of caring. This section offers readers the opportunity to explore literature that celebrates humanity, encouraging reflection and personal growth.

Our goal ? To create a societal movement towards kindness, a world where kindness is the rule, not the exception ! A warm smile, an outstretched hand, an attentive ear: these are the actions that form the fabric of a caring community. Would you like to join us ?

Ask Kelly

Hello “Ask Kelly”,

I'm 78 years old and have been a widow for several years. The pandemic, the confinement and the fear of illness have made me realize that life is beautiful and that we must make the most of it.

My children and grandchildren are all grown up. I feel like nobody needs me anymore, that I'm useless and just waiting for time to pass. I told my children about my desire to meet a man. They laughed and ridiculed my idea. According to them, I'm too old, it's not pertinent to my age anymore and I'm only one man's wife. They also added : "But what will the rest of the family say?''

I don't know where I stand. My heart is overflowing with love and I'd like to share it. I still have the right to offer and receive tenderness. There's no expiration date on my heart and no wrinkles on my feelings.

I'd like to love again, but I'm afraid of how my children will react. I don't want to lose them, but I also don't want to end my life alone the way I am right now. What can I do?

Dear Reader,

First of all, let me commend your wisdom and your appreciation of the beauty of life. Your letter testifies to your sincere desire to continue living life to its fullest, despite the challenges that loneliness and the concerns of loved ones can present.

It's perfectly normal to feel the need to share your life with someone, to seek tenderness and affection. The desire to love again is legitimate, regardless of age. It's important to listen to your heart.

I also understand that your children's reaction is a source of concern for you. Communication is the key in any relationship and it could be beneficial to share your feelings with them again. Explain your need for companionship, love and sharing, while emphasizing that this in no way diminishes your love for them.

Sometimes children can react protectively out of fear of losing you, or out of ignorance of your current needs.

Ultimately, life is a personal journey and it's important that you make decisions that make you happy and fulfilled. You deserve to explore new opportunities and share your love with someone who could enrich your life. Remember that your happiness is as important as that of your loved ones.

I wish you all the best in your quest for happiness and love.

Best regards,

“Ask Kelly”
